Never have seen tachometers listed as parts. Are they price prohibitive or just not available? The one on my 2002d sort of fluctuates around. I have changed the cable and drive gear because of an oil leak so I believe the tach itself is the cause of the fluctuation. I also have a cheap digital tach and it shows the mechanical tach off up to 200 rpm depending on engine speed.
Having asked that question, do you think removing the tach and possibly trying to lubricate would do any good?
I know a tach may not be a requirement on a 30 year old tractor but I just sort of have a thing about things working like they are suppose too.

Re: tachometer
The tachometers are VERY expensive to get reproduced and just not in our current budget. If there starts to be more of a demand for them we might look into it though. So far the minimum order would take us close to a century to sell.
