Hey all,
I have a 2210D, and I rebuilt the engine 2 years ago. Now, it broke again. The front cylinder rod bearing disintegrated, and now it needs another new crankshaft to make it run again, as well as rod, bearing, etc. I hate to put another 1-2K into it and have it wear out again in 2 years. It's an old ugly tractor, and I'm just not sure it's worth it.
Am I being too hard on it? I do use it pretty hard sometimes, but it's a tractor! I am at a loss as to what to do with it.

I'll ask some questions. Did you replace oil pump on overhaul? Do you know what psi your oil pressure has been running? Are you confident your bearing clearances were correct at overhaul? I ask this thinking low or no oil pressure is usually what destroys bearings. Not hard working unless you are running it overheating. I can't give you a good answer on whether it is worth it or not. I do know it is pretty much going to sell for scrap iron as it sits. You might weigh the cost of a replacement cost against what repairs would cost. Thinking that might be a pretty big number. If done right I can't see why the engine should not last a loooooong time.

Hey Winston,
When I rebuilt it last, I replaced the crank, crank bearings, rod bearings (and one new rod).
I installed an oil pressure gauge when I rebuilt it; The oil pressure has been steady at at least 25 lbs, even at idle.

your oil pressure should run between 35 and 50 psi according to the I&T repair manual.

Last time I rebuilt it, the pressure wasn't that high; does that indicate a worn-out oil pump?

Another question: what is the maximum RPM for continued (sustained RPM) use?
Re: Engine broken....again
YM240 manual states working speed between 1800 and 2400rpm. Oil pump could be weak, relief valve could be not set or working correctly, could be excess bearing clearance.

So, when you say the relief valve might not be set, does that mean that it's adjustable? All the bearings were new, on a new crankshaft, so I don't think that's it.
Re: Engine broken....again
Yes, the relief valve is adjustable with internal shims. One shim will change adjustment appx 2.6 psi per manual. #9 here is your relief valve or oil pressure regulator. https://www.hoyetractor.com/CTGY/YM2000OIL.htm
Of course, if the oil pump is worn no amount of shims could bring the pressure up.
