Yanmar ym1500 3 point issues

Postby blunt750 » Sat Jul 24, 2021 2:47 pm

I am having issue with my 3 point lift system. I am a ym1500 without a bucket. With my box blade attached the 3 point will lift it but I can push the box blade down by hand. Can some give me some help on figuring this out. It’s seem like I have some blow but some where. Thanks in advance.

something is leaking by. Might start by raising 3 point. Close the stop valve and see if you can push it down by hand. If so, likely lift piston leaking badly. Don't forget to open the stop valve after the test. You don't want to try raising the 3 point with the stop valve closed. Might cause pump damage.

If "worked as advertised" means it stayed up with stop valve closed then it is likely to be a relief valve leaking by or the control valve. there are good part drawings on his sight showing how they go together if your up to checking them.

So I am taking my control valve apart to replace the o-rings to see if it fixes my issue. Looking at the control valve breakdown I am missing item 16. I am not find those parts anywhere. Is there a suitable sub that I cam use like circlip or something? TIA

Haven't been there, done that, but, I would probably find a snap ring with about the right diameter and see if I could cut pieces out that might work. Harbor Freight sells pretty inexpensive kits. https://www.harborfreight.com/search?q=retaining%20ring

A little cutter wheel on a rotary tool or angle grinder works great.

Be sure you take into consideration I am going by my own made up theory, not text book information I'm dishing out.

Is there anyway to test the hydraulic pump pressure?

You can add something like this and substitute the valve for a gauge
https://www.hoyetractor.com/PROD/HPRVK.htm

I'm not aware of a port or anything that you can tap into though.
