Water pump housing/cover on 1601 (and likely other models)

Postby agirlandhertractor » Sun Aug 20, 2017 7:13 am

The water pump on a 1601 sits on a similarly sized housing which mounts to the head (and is ingress for coolant to the head/block). The same housing is likely found on other smaller Yanmar engines that use a water pump. The housing also holds the water temperature sensor.

Over time this aluminum housing will begin to rot from the inside. There isn't much to the housing however it's not listed on the Hoye parts pages nor are they coming up with ebay searches (even used ones).

Please get some of these housings made up and offer for sale.

We should have a used one. Those castings like that are extremely expensive to reproduce. You could easily spend $10,000 getting a part like that made and you might only sell one or two of them a year at best.

I feel like being surprised - how much would a used water pump backing plate cost?

Please contact us using the link below and we can get you a quote. I don't like posting prices here because we still get calls wanting our 'advertised price' from posts I made 10 years ago.
