YM2000B and 3 Pt Capacity

Postby farsidejunky » Thu Jun 01, 2017 10:03 am

I purchased a hay spear and have attempted to move some 6' bales. It will not lift them. I understand that perfect working 3 point should be 1433 lbs lift capacity, and my understanding was the bales should be around 1200 lbs.

Is the bale weight estimate off, or is my lift capacity diminished?

Thanks in advance.

The hitch is rated for 1430lbs at the tip of the lower link. Your round bale sticks back a long way beyond than that. 6 feet behind the rear wheels your capacity might only be 200lbs (just a random guess). A YM2000 is much too small for a round bale.

Thank you for the clarification. The distance from the 3 point arms never occurred to me.
