Yanmar 1401D oil capacity

Postby thegray » Sun Sep 10, 2017 4:45 pm

Hi folks,

I just acquired a Yanmar 1401D. I saw in the manual I receive with the tractor, that it took 4.75 quarts of oil. The dipstick reads 2.8 liters, which is roughly 3 quarts. I followed the manual's spec sheet and used 4.75 quarts, but it reads a little high on the dipstick. So the question is if 4.75 quarts is correct? If so, how do I know if I have the right dipstick?

Thanks in advance for all the help!

It looks like 3 quarts is correct.

Aaron,

Thanks for your help. I was able to fix the oil issue today, and put on the new ignition switch, I received from Hoye Tractor today. It works great!

The manual I was using was the Murray Publishing YM1401/1401D Operation Manual (Copyright 2003), under specifications, capacities, crankcase (4.75 Quarts listed). Did I misunderstand the manual? Also, do you sell a more recent edition?

Thanks again!

It looks like it was just a misprint or mistranslation or translation of a misprint. That is currently the most recent version.
