YM1510D Stuck in gear

Postby Terrence » Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:50 am

YM1510D, 110hrs

The problem I am about to describe happens on and off. I don't know how it solves itself, or what actions cause it.

Say I am moving forward in 1st gear (2), then I clutch to reverse...but it will not physically move into reverse gear.
The tractor keeps moving forward despite having clutch engaged.

Occasionally when this happens, I can move shifter into neutral, but it still stays in 1st.

Thought it was my milky trans fluid. Changed that, but issue did not go away.

Ideas?

Thank you.

Are you saying the shift lever will not move to reverse or are you saying the shift lever moves but the transmission stays in 1st gear despite the shifter being in the R position?

Are you using a mower when this happens?

I only have a FE Loader, no PTO attachments.

The shifter is physically stuck. I have since gotten it unstuck by messing with it, but the tractor gets in this state on a regular basis.

The tractor keeps moving forward despite having clutch engaged.

The shifter is physically stuck.

These are two seemingly unrelated problems. I can't think of anything that would cause both of these symptoms. I could see if it was a gear transmission maybe the torque would make it hard to shift but a powershift shift lever is just basically a hydraulic valve.
