2210 brakes

Postby MizzouBeach » Fri Apr 24, 2020 3:52 pm

I took the brake shoes off the left side today, and the compartment was filled with oil, apparently leaked from the drive train. I took the bolts out of the plate that sorrounds the brake drum shaft, but couldn't figure out how to remove it so I could replace the seal (the number I have for that part is 194310-33450). Should that plate come right off, or do I need to do something different?

BTW, I have had trouble attaching pictures the last few days...it is telling me the file is too large (it's 659 kB). what am I doing wrong?

Yes, I think your seal is reference #24 in this drawing. 194310-33450. https://www.hoyetractor.com/SRCH.htm

Take a look at this article from a girlandhertractor, might help you even though a different model.

You will have to go to edit and resize your pictures.

Hey, Winston, this is a great article! My setup is a little different from what the article shows, but mostly the same. I am also going to need the bushing mentioned in the article, and it's not shown in this diagram, and for some reason my parts manual doesn't show the parts I need. There is also an O-ring on the back side of the bushing to seal between it and the shaft that I would like to replace. The O-ring isn't a huge deal; I could get one that works at an auto parts store, or I could make one myself.

The seal collar is reference #1 on the first drawing in your other thread, part number 194310-33440, https://www.hoyetractor.com/PROD/SC-4310.htm

o-ring is reference #7, part number 24321-000350, https://www.hoyetractor.com/PROD/24321-000350.htm
