Got tractor halves back together and clutch is not right?

Postby gwp » Sat Mar 21, 2020 3:48 pm

YM2000
Just got rebuilt engine put back in tractor and tractor halves went together fine. Now when tractor is in gear I can roll back and forth therefore it is not engaged with engine. Also, clutch linkage rod (with turnbuckle) will not reach mounting holes? When I manually move clutch clutch lever it seems to only be stretching the springs. Very little resistance as if pressure plates are not moving. Any ideas appreciated

Have you looked this article over and you can also click on a video to watch if you haven't already. https://www.hoyetractor.com/clutch.htm

Woops, stupid post on my part, I know you have already been there.

Are you confident the throw out bearing was installed in the correct direction?

Thanks Winston. Pulled back apart and saw that throw out bearing had shifted. Fixed!

Here we go again! I got tractor halves put back together again and it seemed to go together just fine. Now the engine is not engaging with the transmission. The clutch action seems to be fine. Don't think clutch shaft fell
out of the coupler on transmission end but I guess it could have. I'm wondering if I screwed up installing pressure plate? Using clutch shaft as a pilot, I slipped it on shaft (the correct way) and then bolted flywheel cover on. It's as easy as that, right? Thanks for help!

Everything in gear, transmission, range shift, still no movement? pto doesn't work? If so, looks to me another split is inevitable.
