How many lbs Torque for rocker arm assembly

Postby Jdh » Thu Jan 23, 2020 1:19 pm

How many pounds torque do I put on the rocker arm assembly bolt for YM 2500. I tried to order a shop manual for this tractor and was told that the 2500 was not available but the 3300 was the same. It says to torque to 48 pounds. When I did this, it broke the bolt.

The 2500 is a little unusual in that there is not a US Yanmar that uses the same exact engine. None of the other US model tractors use that same rocker arm stud either which makes it harder to find the correct torque. I think 36ft/lbs is correct for that based on the stud size and compared to the published torques for other tractors that use that same size nut.

I always recommend double checking with the size torque chart in the service manual to be sure that it is inline with what is listed as a torque.
