YM1810D Dash removal

I need to have access to the backside of the dashboard to troubleshoot some electrical issues (oil pressure light, gen light, horn, etc). Through the access panel below the steering wheel with an inspection mirror, I can see some nuts holding the panel in place. Is this the only way to gain access. Do I need to find a way to remove these nuts and remove the steering wheel to change a light bulb?

I believe your 1810 has the same dash as a 220. The 220 manual states to remove 5 screws from the access panel. Then remove holder with bulb from the lamp cluster. I will attach the page for what it is worth. The pictures in the manual are terrible.

Thanks Winston. They may very well be the same dashboard and I can easily remove the access panel, but the second illustration shows easy access to the light bulbs and that is simply not the case unless you can remove the dashboard. I checked the body parts listed at Hoye Tractor for both the 1810 and the 220 and while a lot of parts are interchangeable, the dashboard is only shown on the 1810. Sadly, the two bulbs that don't illuminate when pressing the lamp check button are the most critical, oil pressure and engine temp. Maybe with a borescope I can remove the fasteners that hold the dash in place through the access panel, but then I would need to deal with what looks like a big rubber grommet around the steering column. I can't believe they made it this difficult to change a dash light bulb. Any ideas?

Probably no help but my old 2002D had the same looking dash and here are some pictures I made when I had the dash off working on my power steering.

One more. I am to old to remember just how I removed all of it. Pretty much just common sense and slowly working through it. Thinking you should be able to reach the bulb holders through that lower access panel. The bulb holder should pull out for replacing the bulb. your can see two of the bulb holders in this picture.

Yep Winston, that's my dash. With the sheet metal completely removed you can even see 2 of the 5 studs holding the dashboard in place. I can't reach the lamp holders through the access panel mostly because I have large hands and they are located directly behind the steering column. Also it's just awkward, maybe if the tractor was upside down and the dash was positioned as it is in your second photo. I may borrow a borescope and see if I can get a better point of view. I'm not going to go to all the trouble of removing all the sheet metal and steering wheel just to change a light bulb. I'll just install some remote gauges. Thanks
