YM2210D - overflow bottle

Postby Pepis » Wed May 09, 2018 2:45 am

Hello

Previous owner said that he replaced head gasket. I`ve found out there is missing overflow bottle, it`s only drain hose directly behind baterry. When temp. is rising it`s missing some coolant by this.

On what level you have your overflow bottles?
When I`ll install some bottle then I need to fil radiator to max level ?
What about bottle?

I`m not sure about cooland - I think it`s 100% coolant but I`ve found out y

Best wishes
Peter

https://www.hoyetractor.com/PROD/OFT-4450.htm You should have a 50/50 coolant mix. Here is a video showing bottle location on your 2210. Your can fill radiator to top, also put some in overflow bottle, just leave enough room in it for hot expansion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aa1lJURUrfo

I`m wondering why it should be 50/50 ? It won`t be better to have 100 % collant ?

Thanks winston for video !

I do not know about Poland coolant but do know the antifreeze here is to have a 50/50 mix with water. You can buy the premixed that pours in right out of the jug. http://www.magers.org/handy/antifreeze.html

I just need to know what value of minus temp does it have.
Mine is about -25 Celcius (-77 F)

100% ethylene glycol antifreeze actually freezes at at about 10 degrees Fahrenheit which is a much warmer temperature than when mixed 50/50 with water.

It is also much less efficient at cooling the engine than antifreeze/water mix.

Mine is about -25 Celcius (-77 F)

If I needed that much freeze protection I would be moving. :D That's why I live in Texas. -77 is WELL below my comfort level. :D
