How hard to replace shifter boots?

Postby MRMNTS » Sat Apr 07, 2018 5:41 pm

My 2210D has worn and cracked shifter boots for the transmission and PTO. How hard is it to replace them? Pull old boot up, punch out roll pin, pull lever and swap out boot? I've got the boots in my shopping cart but wanted to have an idea on how I was going to swap them out.
Thanks

May be wrong but I believe all you have to do is remove the shift knobs, slide the old boot off, slide the new one on, replace the knob.

You are correct. Getting the knobs off can be tricky sometimes. You can usually wrap them up in a heavy leather glove and use a pipe wrench.

Some PB blaster and a lot of elbow grease. Both knobs came off. On the 2210D they look like they where glued on.
