I just got a Yanmar 1500, when trying to shift gears it has a lot of grinding noise and the clutch seems really low. Should I try and adjust the clutch before splitting the tractor to change the clutch. The tractor has 627 hours on it and it is in great shape. Also is there a manual on how to adjust the clutch. Thanks
If there is a grinding noise when you press the pedal then something is seriously wrong and is only going to get worse. Adjusting will not likely help. You can see the adjustment procedure at the end of this video ->
I tried tighten the rod and it does not change anything. If the tractor is in gear and the clutch is pushed in it will still move forward. I think the best solution is to go ahead and order the clutch kit.
Ok so tried hooking my tiller up and running it up and down with the clutch pushed down and then would pop it. It is apparently stuck good, I ran it for about 10 min and still did not break loose. Any other suggestions?
