Another newb question...wet sleeve removal

Postby Hnewman144 » Thu Feb 15, 2018 8:42 pm

Sorry to keep blowing this forum up! I have engine in a ym1500 tore down in frame. Have all new parts delivered to day. Ready to start the building process. I'm changing both sleeve's. only problem is I can't get the old sleeves out! Im using a heavy duty liner puller from work and have not cranked down on it to hard yet from fear of busting the block some how. Any suggestions on getting these things out before I put a twelve foot cheater bar on it and mess something up?! The puller I'm using is an expensive took built specifically for pulling diesel engine liners. I have all the arms lined up on the edge of the liner only trying to make sure they don't catch the block and bust it. Are they supposed to be this hard to get out??

Probably been in there 35 years, long time to let stick good. Supposing your puller works something like this one.

Yes mine looks similar to that except it uses a stand that sits on top of the block and 3 arms to latch onto the end of the liner at the bottom. Maybe I just need to shire down on it a little more.
