Front Pulley 187D

Postby doogymon » Fri Jan 05, 2018 11:02 am

Hi

I want to explore running a Hydraulic Pump off the front pulley for an a FEL.

My pulley has two bolt holes instead of 3.

Can I use a drive flange to build out a splined shaft or something?

Hoyes has a part but it is 3 hole.

Cheers & Thanks

I would just cut a plate and drill the correct bolt pattern to bolt to your pulley. Then weld a flex coupler to it. The engine turns slow enough that you should be able to get it close enough to centered that the flex coupler will work out any vibration. I did this with a 6000 watt generator that I coupled to a Yanmar 3 cylinder engine. Has worked great for 5 years or so. A local machine shop could make you something more precise if you wanted.

Yanmar's plan for the 187 front PTO if that helps.

Thanks Aaron

Did Yanmar ever produce that Front PTO Kit for the 187D?

I like your idea with the Flex Coupler.

Cheers
