New 2610D owner and new to tractors

Postby ynotc2 » Sun Dec 17, 2017 12:33 am

Hi,
I have just purchased a YM2610D tractor with bulldog 4 in 1 loader, finishing mower and grader blade.
I would like to get some tips on how to operate this tractor and implements properly and safely.
I have worked out what a few of the yanmar levers do through experimentation but not all.
The loader is no worries, operated lots of loaders/bobcats.
I will also be purcahsing a slasher/brush hog. What size do people recommend?
Thanks in advance

You typically want 4 horsepower for every 1 foot of implement as a general guideline but, do to the weight of most brush mowers and how far back the weight is located, people typically go with one or two sizes smaller. I think a 6' brush mower is a pretty good fit on that tractor but others here might recommend something different.

As far as tips to operate- just spend some time reading on the different Yanmar forums and you will learn a lot. If you have a specific question I'm sure we can help guide you in the right direction.

I always liked one no wider than my real wheel span, handy for mowing along fence rows and obstacles, no worries about mower hitting.

That's a nice model. I'd get a manual for it. (I outlined the options in a recent post that you might want to look for.)
