Proper length for dipsticks on the YMN3810D

Postby Fat Boy » Fri Sep 01, 2017 12:37 pm

What is the length specification for both the engine oil and the hydraulic dipstick for a YMN 3810D, including the high/low markings on each the stick?

I don't recall seeing that printed, and it might be hard to find another one of that model to measure. Hyd isn't that exact -- just look down and fill to within about 2" of the opening. For engine, drain and fill with the exact capacity (if you can find that out). That's "full" and "add" would be about a half-inch lower.

Are you aware that the oil level is read with the dipstick just sitting on the threads and not screwed in on Japanese engines?
