YM2500

Postby T E Morgan » Sun Aug 06, 2017 11:43 am

Tried to send pics of tractor, said file was too large so I wanted to see if 3T80 on serial tag would tell what year model my ym2500 was? Know that's not much to go by but that's all I see on tractor.
Thanks, RE Morgan

3t80 is your engine model number. Thinking you may be reading the tag on the engine. Your serial number tag is located here. http://www.hoyetractor.com/serial.htm

The 2500 was manufactured in 1977 and 78 so pick a year. Likely low number would be 1978.

You can find out what years each model line was in production, but Yanmar doesn't disclose an individual tractor's birthdate (and won't offer any help at all with a grey-market model). When owners need to declare a year, they guess. If you want to be foolproof, write "1978 (est.)"

You probably won't find it. Some say it was stamped in the wheels, but no guarantee/not likely you have the same wheels after dismantling for shipment in containers with 4-8 other tractors.

I show that model was only made for one year- 1977.
