Repair Services in SE New England.

Postby ajencks » Thu Aug 03, 2017 4:14 am

Looking for someone who can fix a transmission issue in the South Eastern Massachusetts area. I have a 226 with a rear end problem. I believe a gear broke in the PTO and somehow jammed the right rear tire. I'm hoping its not a dire problem but clearly the rear of the tractor needs to be removed to fix which is beyond my skills so any suggestion would be most appreciated. Love the tractor. Thanks

No idea of repair shops in Ma. Seems the starting point would be to remove the pto unit for a look see. Might watch this video and see if you think that is above your capabilities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbD1xszih_E

If you are saying the right rear is locked up, why do you think the PTO is involved?

If the right-heel pedal (locks the diff) is up and free, and it's not a locked brake, likely an axle issue. Not aware of any connection with the PTO. Any updates?
