Re: Need dropbox(transfer case) for 2210D!!!!

My impression as a non-expert is that there's one small part, a shift fork, that's often the problem. So maybe ask about shipping the box to Aaron for inspection, and maybe replacing the fork with one off the shelf, from a similar salvage unit, or a custom machined one.

And if the best you can do is 2WD, all you're losing is the pull of one small tire with little weight on it. What with wheel weights and/or ballast, a heavy rear implement, chains, and using the diff lock, the traction should be almost as good.

dmoo....have you had any luck locating another box yet?
Only thing I could find for you was a 2210 (2WD) for sale and a 2500 (2WD) for parts no engine $800 in Louisiana. I'll keep my eye out for you.
I know you must feel kind of frustrated over all of this.

Nothing yet. I'm still looking but so far nothing. I guess that means that 2210D doesn't often make it to salvage. I'm considering selling as 2WD and getting something else.

Still looking for a Dropbox (transfer case) for 2210D. Hoye website said they had a salvage one in so I got excited but the tell me it's a 2210 two wheel drive. Anyone know of a salvage one.

The only dropbox problem with mine (though not the same model) was a worn shift-fork. It's a small and simple piece that could be machined from scratch.

If that is indeed a common weak spot, and if the same fork works for multiple models, maybe Hoye could have some made up.

The 2210D may not be a popular model, but there's likely one in some tractor salvage yard or dealer's back lot, so google "yanmar dealers" and ask them all. Do the same for tractor salvage, and ask the nearest one if they can message the salvage network.
