Yanmar YM2310

Postby carnut3055 » Wed Jan 27, 2021 6:30 am

I have a YM2310, year unknown, with a cracked engine block. The engine runs fine but leaks. I am looking for a used (in good condition) engine block. My engine is labeled 3T84H-S. How do I read this code? How may I determine which engine blocks are good replacements?

If it just leaks coolant externally I would strongly recommend trying to JB Weld up the crank first. If you grind a little 'V" over the crack and get it cleaned up really well- the JB repair will usually last a very long time. We had a pretty big Case IH tractor with a cracked block (froze) that has ran that way for probably going on 25 years now.

To answer you question
3T - 3 cylinder
84 - mm bore
H-S - family & options code I think

The problem with anything but an exact match is going to be things like hydraulic pump mounting might be in a different spot or oil pan hits something or water pump is different, or intake or exhaust it different- for example.
