Guys, Ive believe Ive asked this before but I cant find the thread. This spring I intend on doing a few projects to the old workhorse. One of my first goals is to fix the knuckle gap on the front end. The gap is larger on the inside than on the outside, causing my seals to leak. I may end up getting some pics to show this. My question is, is this a bearing wear out issue, housing issue, or combo of both. And please dont just post a picture of the drawing of the internal working of the 4wd, Ive studied that thing until i am blue in the face. I just thought someone may have experienced this in the past.

Here is your old thread. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10083&p=36945#p36945
I can't improve on my comments made there. Maybe Aaron or others can tell you more. Without opening up it is going to be next to impossible to know. Just an opinion, not a fact.

Yes, I intend on opening and checking it out. Was just wondering if there was any prior experience to play off of. Thanks as always Winston, I'll keep ya posted.

the upper ball bearing is what failed on my old 2002D. No lube up there, went back with sealed bearing.

And that caused the uneven gap like that? I hope that's all it is.

I don't really know whether I had a gap or not. Don't know it will help but here is the thread of the work on TBN. https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/yan ... highlight=

Yeah, there is nothing to click. It just says attachment thumbnail with nothing there. No big deal.

If you want to email me I will send you the pictures. I have to shrink them to attach them here and really don't want to do that.
