The 169 is very similar in size but it has the two piece clutch linkage. The 1401 has a one piece.

I was just working on the tractor and noticed that the clutch pedal spring does not have much spring to it. I can push down on the pedal and the spring really does not have much tension until the clutch is half way down. Could this also be a factor?

The spring should pull it back until it hits the stop. If it does that then no problem. If not, then a problem.

Yeah the spring does not pull it all the way back once it is depressed then it stays about 2 1/2 from the stop. I guess I need to order a spring also
