hydraulic screen clog

Looking at a 155d with hoe and loader,( asking $4800) ( approx 700 hrs )owner says only issue is hyd screen clogs after awhile,thinks it might be 40 + year old hoses failing internally and hose material clogging screen ? does this sound like a possible cause of the hyd filter screen to clog ? thanks

Never heard of that but certainly wouldn't rule it out. It would seem to me inspection of the clog could pretty much tell if it was hose material. Most screen pluggage comes from water in fluid which causes sludge. Unless there are major problems with the unit that is a steal of a price in my opinion.
