Yanmar Tractor Support Message Board

In the process of restoring my Yanmar 2610D. Upon starting for the first time since beginning this project the hydraulic pump located at the front of the engine seemed to get really hot. Hot enough for new paint to let off smoke. Is this normal? Might of got hot prior but just noticed because of the fresh coat of paint. Thanks for your help. Darrin

I would say that is to hot. Your system must be pressured to a point a relief valve is going off. Maybe like maintaining near 2000psi. At this time only a theory on my part. You hear any squealing or unusual noises going on anywhere in the hydraulics? Is your valve between your legs open? Do you have a loader? If so, any quick disconnects?
