John Deere 650 Throttle

Postby warburtonplayer » Sat Sep 19, 2020 12:49 pm

I am working on a John Deere 650 with around 700 hours on it I just had the engine rebuilt with all internals and new clutch. I have it back together and it runs great but when I idle the tractor down the throttle lever will shut the tractor off. If I run it faster it will stay with no problem. It seems like it is vibrating loose somewhere on the throttle assembly. Any idea how to tighten the assembly to keep it from shutting of?

You can go to the John Deere sight and look at this but note ball & spring numbers 4 & 5. That ball sits in a detent when at idle pushing it past will kill the tractor. Al

so note friction washer #9 and adjusting and locking nuts number 20 & 21.

It would give you an idle stop before killing tractor if adjusted properly. I can't verify it, maybe parts people at Hoye can. I suspect these are the same as the John Deere but not positive. https://www.hoyetractor.com/PROD/SB-1132.htm and https://www.hoyetractor.com/PROD/194197-01160.htm
