Yanmar YM169d Universal Joints

Postby Ewallmark » Sun Jun 14, 2020 9:09 pm

Does anyone know where I can find u joints for the YM169d tractor front driveshaft? I purchased the 20mm u joint but the T was just a tad too tall. The 20mm caps fit fine. The T measures 52mm and there is a HK6 inscribed on it. Possible part number UN 200 520. Been all over the place and seems impossibe to find.

Im pretty sure the exact joints are no longer sold. The joints we sell will work just fine but you sometimes have to just stake the caps instead of using the snap rings. It is pretty common practice- especially on newer vehicles.

I am having problems fitting the cross into the yoke. Is there any tips on how to get this to fit?

If you mean you cant get the joint to make the turn to drop inside the yoke- you might have to grind just a little bit of the rough casting/paint off of the inside of the yoke. They are a tight fit but also kind of like one of those 'wire puzzle' toys where you have to line things up just right and then they fall into place. I had one in my office that I was showing one of our parts guys and I could not get it back together. I just had it assembled so I knew it would go. It finally just dropped into the right position and went right in.
