Re: @ Winston

Alan, along with a few other yanmar geniuses on this forum rebuilt my tractor engine just by typing buttons on their keyboards! They pretty much walked me through step by step with diagnostics and input on the rebuild hate to see him go!

Ym1500 front end loader?

Been thinking about adding a loader to my 1500. I know these things weren't designed for loaders but I'm not going to be doing gravel work or anything heavy duty. I only want one for light yard maintenance, but mainly for cleaning out stalls in my barn. So I'm not worried about over working it. But ...

Re: Ym1500 head gasket leak

I find it very weird that the only head gasket leak I have is coming up the stud threads. There to many possibilities for leaks. It's not burning water. It's not leaking where the head and block meet. It would be really strange if the gasket is blown between the stud hole and a water holevon every s...

Re: Ym1500 head gasket leak

I haven't tried tightening yet. But im pretty sure it's coolant and not oil. And there's no compression coming out around the studs it's just when the cooling system heats up to operating temps the pressure of the cooling system is some how force the water up the threads of the studs. It's barely an...

Re: Ym1500 head gasket leak

Norm, my point exactly. They don't screw into water ports at all. The head gasket has it's own holes cut out for the studs. The stud holes and the water passage holes are completely separate.

Re: Ym1500 head gasket leak

I haven't noticed an coolant loss. But it is very small leak. I can't wrap my head around how it's coming up the stud threads on all three studs on the outside of the valve cover. No other leaks on the outside of the block. Just the studs. I think my oil is overfilling a bit to. And if so then I ass...

Ym1500 head gasket leak

So I rebuilt the engine in my Ym1500 and it has been purring like a kitten. Have sense put about 10 hours on and I noticed today the outter three studs were a little wet. Took a closer look and one of the studs had tiny bubbles blowing up around the threads of the head stud. So the head gasket is ob...

Re: Ym1500 oil pressure

Good deal. I knew my pressure was ok but weird how it drops a little under load. Good to know you've had no problems with yours doing that. Thanks alot!

Ym1500 oil pressure

Sense installing a mechanical oil pressure gauge I noticed something strange. Oil pressure stays around 40-45 psis when engine is cold. When warmed up it stays around 35-40. when working the engine hard with finish mower it's running around 30-33 psis. I can turn the finish mower off and it goes bac...

Re: YM1500 3 point hitch

So would y'all recommend tweaking that adjustment? Any certain way to do that or just trial and error?

Re: YM1500 3 point hitch

Winston have you ever messed with one of those roll pin adjustments on the side like that? Talked to a guy at hoye and he said that's not something you want to mess with if you don't have to?
