Re: leaking temp gauge

That probe piece is a tapered fitting. Sometimes on stuff like that you can loosen and tighten several times to get it to seat better. Just dont overtighten it or you can deform the sealing area.

Re: YM1500 Front Rims

I have seen several people just put car tires or trailer tires on the factory wheels. Those tires are not really much wider but are a flatter tread and are more friendly to turf. We also have that bolt pattern in a 4" and 5" wide wheel (and the 7" turf wheel).

Re: YM165D tachometer/hourmeter ratios

I have never seen that anywhere but you should be able to just turn your engine over (by hand) X times and see how many times the cable turns.

Re: Knock at rear of yanmar 2000 engine

We have seen that before where a bolt has backed out and hits something. We have also had one that had a loose bolt laying in the bellhousing that would clatter around occasionally.

Re: No Oil Pressure after overhaul on ym155d

I have heard of this before and I think the guy ended up having a bad oring on his pickup tube if I remember correctly. Where the tube seals to the block.

Re: Yanmar F265D engine does not shut down with key off

That shutoff lever is pulled by a little motor. I would be sure it had power to it at the right times and that the connections were good at that plug. You can also take apart that little gearbox and be sure the switches inside are good. Worst case you can just put a cable on it like all of the older...

Re: Milky fluid

It can really only happen from water (rain or washing) getting in around a cracked shifter boot or from a contaminated source. Air can also cause the oil to look milky but it will go away after a few hours.

Re: Low oil pressure after Lucas additive?

15psi at 2000 rpm seems pretty low to me. I think 40ish+ is normal. I don't know if it low enough that it is going to cause damage but I suspect that eventually it would. Something is already wrong if the pressure is that low though. Either the bearings have heavy wear on them or the pump is going b...

Re: Low oil pressure after Lucas additive?

What additive did you use (looks like Lucas makes several) and how much of it did you put in? I could see how, if you already had low oil pressure and you put in an additive that slightly thinned the oil then it could cause your low pressure to continue at a higher RPM. Thinner oil will get out of t...

Re: Bare minimum to fix 4wd knuckle leak?

It depends on if there is wear or damage to the surface that the seal rides on. If there is damage or grooves then a new seal will not fix your problem. If it is just that your seal has dried out or cracked and is just no longer sealing then, yes, a new seal should fix it- or you might also be able ...

Re: FX28D won’t go into gear

If your PTO does not work then it is something mechanical (not hydraulic or powershift related). If your clutch is adjusted correctly then most likely either the clutch has failed or the splined coupler between the clutch & transmission has stripped

Re: Suction side air leak. Visible fluid leakage at hoses?

Have you cleaned your internal screen & replaced your spin on hydraulic filter lately? If it was sucking air you should be able to see your oil getting foamy (just by looking into the reservoir). Does your power steering still work?
