Re: trade in value of a YM226D with loader

Might be able to help more if you posted photos, indicated your location and what you would be trading it on, how long you've had it, and what it needs done to it.

Re: F735 with Yanmar Diesel Engine problems

Could be various problems but start with the simplest. 1. Fill the fuel tank and if it happens again try loosening the cap. 2. Order a fuel filter element from a Deere dealer. When you pick it up, try to get instructions because if you don't do it right you can make it worse. (You'll find them on th...

Are you talking about the throttle linkage that's right above the engine-oil dipstick?

Re: Yanmar 1300D attachment RS 1000 mishap !

(Further to Paul) ... or did the tiller tines suddenly, on their own, start to turn with force over hard ground -- twice -- which for some reason, each time, yanked the hitch full tilt upward?

Re: cooling system water leak on 1610D

Fill the system. Raise the front wheels a few inches (like by driving on ramps or a block). Make sure it's in neutral (on both selectors) and brake is on. Start it (if it will run) and wait for drops in the ground (may have to wait until it pressurizes). Crawl under, use an air hose to blow any liqu...

Re: Lx410 loader control goes right to float

Was anything done to the tractor shortly before the problem? If the hoses to the control have quick-connects it's easy to switch them around (eg raise in order to lower), which sometimes cures a blockage or stuck component. (Label them first so you'll know how to restore them.) It's no big deal to r...

Re: runnung temp?

I installed gauges (coolant temp, battery volts, oil press) when new, without interfering with the annunciators. Over 5,000 hrs later, the only benefit has been from the oil one (when there was a leak and the pressure was dropping before the light came one).

Did you mean to say "shove a water hose into LOWER hose opening..."?

Re: CAT EC-1 instead of standard coolant - anyone using this?

Here is what I do NOT know and would welcome comments on. (Hope wife doesn't find out. She says I know everything.) Coolant has advanced, particularly in longevity, since the manuals were written. Would Yanmars benefit from these advances? Should I use a coolant designed for diesels? Since it's only...

I googled the AF series to see what it was and came across a major supplier in Osaka -- that might be able to help.

Re: 2310d starts but wont keep running for more than about 10-15 seconds

Further to Norm, a regular battery is designed to give high amps briefly, which is what a starter needs. A marine or deep-discharge one is designed to withstand prolonged discharges -- in exchange for not being able to provide high amps -- which is why you don't see them in cars. Or tractors.

Re: Low Oil Pressure Light YMN 3810

It's a small must-never-leak fitting on a vibrating and temp-changing surface. Thoroughly clean both sets of threads and the surface. Apply a thread-sealer like Lok-Tite. Carefully thread it in. Mound epoxy around the fitting to cancel any bending strain that could eventually weaken the connection a...

Re: 226D wont go into gear after repalcing oil

"Universal hydraulic" is universal -- except for Yanmars, which need hydraulic/transmission fluid. I've heard that some other fluids work fine, and know that the PowerShift will fail with certain incorrect ones. The details are Irrelevant to me because the correct kind is easily available ...

Re: 226D wont go into gear after repalcing oil

If by "touch the clutch" he meant pressing the clutch pedal down, no, that doesn't make sense to me. What if you shifted into 2dn and 3rd using just the hand lever, not the pedal?
