@ Winston

Winston, thanks for checking up on why I discontinued contributing here. You get old, you get grumpy, and the gratuitous putdowns exceeded my geriatric tolerance level.

Re: 2210D cold tractor doesn't want to engage

There are many posts here on this but generally, with fluid drained, look for a triangular plate on the bottom, held by three bolts about 1.5" apart. Remove plate and carefully remove tubular screen filter, watching its O-ring. Clean screen, put back, and replace fluid (using new if old has clo...

Re: 2210D cold tractor doesn't want to engage

If it's PowerShift, check the tightness of the connection between the horizontal lever that you move, and the vertical shaft it's attached to.

It's hard to be sure of the total hours on any Yanmar, and impossible on a grey-market model.

Re: Gannon EK 42

I can look it up but from memory the lift capacity of my 226, a bigger model than yours, is just over 500 lbs 2' aft of the lower-arms pins. When I talked about where an attachment is mounted, I should have said where its center of gravity is, and a Gannon's is pretty far back. If you can get it eas...

Re: YM2000 hard cold start and overheating

You could phone diesel shops and ask if they have a Snap-on hydrocarbon sniffer. When you find one, bring a sample of coolant and they can tell you if the gasket's leaking.

Re: Gannon EK 42

Winston, you put me in mind of a saying by Noah Webster: "Knowledge is of two kinds. You can know something or you can know where to find it." Dave, it will be at the limit of your hitch's lift capacity when empty, especially if mounted far back. If it won't lift you might fabricate one ca...

Re: F215D Proper Start sequence

Not familiar with the F series but generally, start thus. In neutral, hand throttle at idle detent, foot throttle and clutch pedal down. Hold key cc against its spring for 10 sec. Pull out decomp control. Turn key to crank engine ("Start") for about 2 sec. (If it's not spinning fast, see t...

Re: Throttle

Unlikely but just in case -- are you referring to the foot throttle (which self-releases), not knowing about the hand throttle (which stays where it was last left)?

Re: YM1500 using pond scoop

The question is whether the scoop has a dump function. If it does, the angle will be enough to release most of the contents but you may have to prod a bit because (at least on those I've seen) the dump angle won't be as high as a front bucket's.

Winston, he's losing his "Transmission/Differential/Hydraulic" fluid (which I suppose is OK for Yanmars but I don't know).

Re: Yanmar 1300D

"... how does the addition of a fel affect components?" In the first year of use, a knuckle arm on my 226D snapped. Three times. (Fixed under warranty, and the last one had a heavier design and has lasted fine.) Fast forward to a decade back. Had recently had the lift cylinders repacked. W...

If the hoe goes on the 3-pt, I'd install a subframe. And you'll need front weights.

Re: Yanmar 1300D

I think it's a fine ad for a fine-looking tractor -- hope it works out for you.

(I don't know the meaning of "player" in your name but as a kid I took lessons from musician Robert Warburton.)
